Transform a tion of Roads

With the new policy of globalisation of our national economy and emphasis on promotion of exports of agricultural and industrial products, a dense and efficient

road network is a must. The Government has opened up road construction and its maintenance to private sector including joint venture with foreign collaboration. One of the policies is to invite private parties to ‘build’, ‘operate’, and ‘transfer’ (BOT) roads decided upon by the Government. The parties would bear cost of construction, operate roads for stipulated period, collect road taxes from users and return the roads to the for this specific purpose.
