♤ By Simple Majority of Parliament
o Those provisions of the Constitution, which are outside the scope of Article 368, can be amended through majority of each House, present and voting.
o This is quite similar to the ordinary legislative process.
o Following are few of the provisions amended by the above process:
a) Formation of new states and alteration of areas, boundaries or names of existing states.
b) Creation or abolition of legislative councils in the states.
c) Administration and control of scheduled areas and scheduled tribes.
d) The salaries and allowances of the Supreme Court and High Court judges.
e) Laws regarding citizenship.
