11.8.4. Method of Removal of Supreme/High Court Judges

It varies from state to state where sometimes recommendation of enquiry committee is enough, while in some majority support by more than two-third members of both houses is required for impeachment of a judge.

Impeachment requires an order of the President passed after an address in each House of Parliament, supported by a majority of the total membership of that House of not less than two- thirds of members present and voting, and presented to the President in the same Session for such removal on the ground of proved

misbehavior or incapacity.
