Sports goods making is a traditional cottage industry in the country. The raw materials used in sports goods are fine quality of wood, leather, cloth, rubber, and metal. These are locally available. Some of the finer quality of raw materials are, however, imported. Sports goods cottage industry, mainly concentrated in the rural and urban areas ofjalandhar, Ludhiana, Ahmedabad, Ambala, Chennai, Delhi, Jammu, Kolkata, Ludhiana, Meerut, Modinagar, Moradabad, Mumbai, Mysore, Nainital, Pune, Saharanpur, Shimla, and Srinagar.
