8. Region of Moderate Rainfall

This region lies to the east of the Western Ghats and includs Gujarat, south-western Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka and greater parts of Andhra Pradesh. Being in the rain-shadow area of the Western Ghats, this region receives relatively less rainfall of about 75 cm. The average temperature in the months ofjanuary andjuly varies between 18°C and 32°C respectively.
