This series of events is measured by detectors [OPERA^, ATLAS*, CMS*] that capture various characteristics of this collision (e.g. path and energy of the beams and massof particles created). Afterextensive processing to remove the background noise in the data, the ‘footprint’ of the Higgs boson shows up as a bump in the graphs in which the particle mass data is plotted.
