Sixth Five-Year Plan (1980-85)

The main emphasis in the Sixth Five-Year Plan was on producing goods to exploit the domestic and international markets. To achieve this objective industries like aluminium, automobiles, electric equipments, thermostatics were given the priority. Production targets were achieved in industries like commercial vehicles, drugs, TV. receivers, automobiles, cement, coal, jute industry, non-ferrous metals, textiles, railway wagons, sugar industry, etc.
