Physiographic Divisions of the Himalayas

For a systematic study of the physiography and relief, Himalayas may be divided into the following four divisions from north to south:

1. The Trans-Himalayas

2. The Greater Himalayas

3. The Lesser Himalayas

4. The Shiwaliks or the Outer Himalayas.
