5. High Percentage of the Reporting Area under Cultivation

In India, about 55 per cent of the total reporting area is under cultivation of crops and pastures. This is much higher w hen compared with about 4 per cent in Canada, 12 per cent in China, 15 per cent in Japan, and 16 per cent in USA.
