♤ Presently 14 % of palm oil globally is certified by RSPO It is however important to understand that palm oil itself is not the problem, but rather how palm oil is produced. When done right, palm oil can be a catalyst for development and to improve livelihoods. It can also enhance biodiversity and sequestrate carbon di oxide when planted on degraded lands.
To ensure an uninterrupted supply of ‘clean‘ palm oil that does not involve sacrificing the remaining tropical forests or contributing to global warming and other social problems, all companies that produce, trade or use palm oil need to move towards sustainable palm oil.
