6.2. Post-Independence

Colonialism, is perceived as the prominent factor for emergence of communalism in India. However, overthrowing of colonial rule proved to be only a necessary condition for fighting communalism, not sufficient. Because even post-independence, communalism persisted and has been the biggest threat to the secular fabric of our nation.
