5.1.4.2. Planned Development and Women’s Issues

In the post-Independence period it was assumed that economic development policies i.e., agriculture development and modernization, industrialization, technological development etc., will bring about better life for everyone including women. The overall growth strategies failed to take note of the existing class, caste and gender inequalities. Planned development in India increased socio-economic inequalities. Let us discuss the observation in more detail.
