The isolation of the region, its complex social character, backwardness, laxity of political class, vast international border and weak communication between and rest of India have further added to the delicate nature of politics here.

However, efforts are being made and should be further scaled to address the region’s

concerns:

Continuous dialogue between Centre, state governments, rebel groups and civil society. Rebel groups need to understand that their demands of independence and autonomy based on ever-narrowing identities cannot be fulfilled without comprising external and internal security of country.

Steps for better development and connectivity in the region by apt implementation of policies and able administration.

Effective implementation of the Sixth Schedule provisions.
